Nicole Stott is an astronaut, aquanaut, engineer, artist, and author of Back to Earth, known for blending the awe of spaceflight with creative expression to inspire stewardship of our home planet. A veteran NASA astronaut, she spent 104 days in space on the International Space Station and Space Shuttle, performed a spacewalk, captured a free‑flying cargo vehicle with the ISS robotic arm, and became the first person to paint a watercolor in space. Also combining her undersea aquanaut and spaceflight experiences, she now works as a consultant, speaker, and advocate for our planetary spaceship, and co-founded the Space for Art Foundation to unite children worldwide through space and art.
