Joan Walton
Consciousness Researcher
Joan Walton is a researcher at York St John University, UK, where she leads The Global Expansion of Consciousness Education, an action research project exploring the role of consciousness in shaping the future of learning. The initiative grew from recognising that today’s major challenges, including ecological breakdown, social fragmentation and declining mental health, are closely connected to how consciousness is understood. Bringing together educators, researchers and practitioners, the project investigates why consciousness matters and how education can evolve into a catalyst for personal, social and cultural transformation. Walton’s work positions consciousness education as essential to creating a more compassionate and sustainable world.
