Anish Chaluvadi is a final-year PhD candidate in Materials Science at the University of Cambridge, as part of the Space Photovoltaics Group led by Prof. Louise Hirst. His research focuses on lightweight, radiation-tolerant photovoltaic architectures and manufacturing-compatible process routes for next-generation space applications, with particular emphasis on low-cost, InP-based solar cells. Anish is a Gates Cambridge Scholar and has held industrial research and engineering roles at 3M and GE Vernova, where he worked across AI-guided materials discovery, advanced characterization, and manufacturing-relevant process development. He has been active in innovation ecosystem building, most recently serving as Co-President of the Cambridge University Energy Technology Society. Anish holds an MRes in Nanoscience and Nanotechnology from the University of Cambridge and a BSc in Materials Science and Engineering from Clemson University.
